Third-Generation Edition Open-Back Planar Headphone Places Equal Emphasis on Fit and Performance

Shipping this month, the Edition XV (SRP: $399) is available through select dealers and online at the company’s store, in addition to Amazon.
Like the original Edition X and more recent Edition XS, which were respectively introduced in 2015 and 2022, the new Edition XV is a high-fidelity open-back planar headphone a natural soundstage that reproduces music precisely as it was recorded and mastered.
In addition, there is an enhanced magnet for improved dynamics and a second-generation headband that is light and strong.

The Edition XV brings multiple demonstrable improvements to the Edition series.
Previous Edition headphones relied on the Supernano diphragm, which is very thin and close to 1 micrometer thick. The new Edition XV takes the series further with the new super-thin “NEO Supernano diaphragm” that is 40% thinner than the previous model.
The Edition XV also features a newly enhanced Stealth Magnet that is acoustically transparent, dramatically reducing wave diffraction turbulence that degrades the integrity of the sound waves, maximizing the accuracy of the sonic output.
The new “enhanced magnet” uses rare-earth-free magnetic materials with an optimally designed structure to achieve a level of sensitivity that is comparable to drivers with rare-earth magnets.
With these new technologies, listeners will enjoy demonstrably improved, full-range, natural-sounding sonics.
Rounding out the upgrades is a composite headband that weighs up to 30g less than typical designs, with rotatable hinges for enhanced comfort. The new lightweight headband features high-grade memory foam for a comfortable fit and lasting elasticity. In addition, the cable sockets are like those found on most common audio devices. The supplied cable is changeable and upgradeable.
The new Edition XV open-back planar headphone features an impedance of 12ohms, sensitivity measured at 92dB, and a frequency response of 8Hz – 50kHz. Its weight is 16 oz.
