Munich, Germany 2022: Nordost is excited to be back at the High End show in Munich, May 19-22, after three long years. Attendees will be the first to see, and hear, several products which have been released since our last Munich showing, in 2019, but have yet to be introduced on a public, international platform. New Nordost releases include the Premium QSOURCE DC Cable, Valhalla 2 Ethernet Cable, Premium QKORE Wire, QRT Stand Mount, and QNET Network Switch. In addition to giving show-goers what may be their first looks at these exciting products, Nordost’s team of product specialists will be performing demonstrations in (Halle 4) Atrium 4, room E112. Demonstrations will primarily focus on our QNET Network Switch, showcased in a world-class system, featuring Wilson Audio Sasha DAW loudspeakers, the Dan D’Agostino Progression line of products, and a VPI Avenger Direct turntable, completely wired with Nordost’s Reference-level Valhalla 2 cables.
The Premium QSOURCE DC Cable is a purpose-built power cord upgrade, which completes the transmission chain from the Nordost QSOURCE Linear Power Supply to the QPOINT, QNET, and other DC-run system components. First released in 2020, the Premium QSOURCE DC Cable is composed of two solid core, silver plated OFC, 22 AWG connectors that take advantage of Nordost’s proprietary Micro Mono-Filament technology. These connectors, arranged in a shielded, twisted pair construction, prevent internal noise from generating within the cable. Just as an AC power cord can act as the choke point of a system, using DC power cords that don’t do justice to the components they are paired with can be equally damaging. By upgrading to the Premium QSOURCE DC Cable, customers can better match their DC power cord to the caliber of their systems and enhance the performance-level of their DC-run components.
The Premium QSOURCE DC Cable is available at Nordost dealers, worldwide. The following terminations are available: LEMO to LEMO (both QPOINT and QNET configurations), LEMO to 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC connector, or LEMO to 5.5mm x 2.5mm DC connector. Nordost Authorized German Distributor, Audio Reference, offers retail pricing starting at 360,00 € for a 1 meter length.
The Valhalla 2 Ethernet Cable allows music lovers to fully incorporate digital music storage and streaming into their reference audio systems, while maintaining, and even improving upon, their musical performance. Released in 2021, the award-winning V2 Ethernet Cable is constructed using eight, 23 AWG, solid core conductors wrapped in a high-density polymer insulation and arranged into four, triple-shielded twisted pairs. Each of these design aspects minimizes skin e_ect, eliminates crosstalk and EMI, and ensures a high-performance network cable that supports frequencies and transmission speeds that easily meet Category 8 requirements.
The Valhalla 2 Ethernet Cable is available at Nordost dealers, worldwide. Nordost Authorized German Distributor, Audio Reference, offers retail pricing starting at 2.960,00 € for a 1 meter length, with additional one meter increments being 440,00 €.
Nordost’s Premium QKORE Wire, was introduced in 2021 as an upgrade to the original QKORE Wire, released with the company’s QKORE Ground Units in 2017. The QKORE Wire provides the path of least resistance to ground for the stray, high-frequency, low-voltage potentials that negatively impact the performance of your sound system. However, in addition to facilitating the transfer of extremely low voltages from electronics to the Ground Unit, this product is also responsible for the resonance sync capabilities of the QKORE. This mechanically tuned, 14 AWG, silver-plated OFC, solid core cable uses both extruded FEP and Nordost’s patented Micro Mono-Filament technology. The improved design of the Premium QKORE Wire allows for increased functionality of the QKORE grounding system, resulting in an even quieter background, and the ability to deliver a more full and realistic soundstage.
The Premium QKORE Wire is available at Nordost dealers, worldwide. The following terminations are available: Banana, Spade, RCA, XLR (Male), XLR (Female), BNC, USB A, USB B, or RJ45 (CAT/Ethernet) to either Banana or Spade. Nordost’s QRT Stand Mount is the perfect accessory for our QBASE Mark II AC Distribution Units and QSOURCE Linear Power Supply. Released in 2021, the Stand Mount o_ers several stable new ways to place your QRT products for both sonic improvements as well as convenience. With the QRT Stand Mount, you will be able to easily support your device with Sort Kones, mount it to the wall, or simply lift it, providing extra stability.
The QBASE/QSOURCE Stand Mount is available at Nordost dealers, worldwide. Nordost Authorized German Distributor, Audio Reference, offers retail pricing of 129,00 €.
The QNET is a layer-2, five-port Ethernet switch that has been specifically designed with audio performance in mind. Nordost’s innovative network switch, launched in early 2022, is designed from the ground up to perfect the transmission and receival of high-speed audio signals, while achieving extremely low noise operation. The QNET uses a high speed, multi-layered, impedance-controlled layout, an extremely low-noise, stable oscillator for the main clock, and is equipped with six dedicated power supplies. The winning combination of these features results in an audiophile Ethernet switch that minimizes interference, crosstalk, jitter, and phase noise. Each port on the QNET is optimized for its application, providing both auto-negotiated 1000BASE-T (1 Gbps) capable, and fixed 100BASE-TX (100 Mbps) ports. This premium network switch will deliver enviable dynamic range, extension, and clarity to digitally-run hifi systems.
The QNET Network Switch is available at Nordost dealers, worldwide. For price requests, please contact Nordost Authorized German Distributor, Audio Reference: firstname.lastname@example.org www.audio-reference.de
Nordost is excited to share what they have been working on for the past two years and encourage attendees of the High End show to experience these new innovations for themselves in Atrium 4, room E112.
